Pella Christian High School invites alumni and the community to attend their Homecoming activities on Eagle Lane next Friday.
Students will begin the day with a morning of service and festivities at the high school will begin with chapel at Noon in the Vermeer Auditorium. Following chapel, students will move over to the gymnasium for competitions, which will conclude with the presentation of the homecoming court. Student Council advisor Bekah Gorkow says that leading up to Friday’s festivities, students can celebrate homecoming with dress-up days throughout the week.
“On Tuesday, we have Come As You Are or Pajama Day, where students can get pretty creative with how they dress up in their pajamas, or put more effort into looking as crazy as possible. And then on Wednesday, we have Rhyme Without Reason, where students find ways to dress up as things that rhyme but really have no relation to each other. And they can find as many people as they want to get dressed up in as many words that they can get to rhyme. And then on Thursday we are in Western or USA wear, bringing their patriotic pride and all that good stuff. And then on Friday, we are in our maroon and gold Eagle pride outfits showing off all of our best school spirit.”
The Eagles varsity boys and girls basketball teams will host Oskaloosa that evening, starting with the girls at 6 pm and the boys to follow at 7:30 pm on Eagle Lane. The basketball games that night can be heard live on the KRLS2 stream, and all of the homecoming events next Friday can be viewed live on the Pella Christian YouTube Channel.
