The class 3A #4 Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad defeated Davis County on Monday night 80-55 while the girls fell behind in the 2nd quarter and lost to the Mustangs 56-31 heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The Panthers got off to a roaring start leading 32-11 after one quarter, but the Mustangs turned the tables and outscored Knoxville 21-10 in the 2nd 8:00. Knoxville seemed to right the ship after halftime to get the lead back up to 17. Coach Joel Keady was happy for the start, but the middle portion of the game was not what he wanted to see.

Keady: “I thought we were pretty focused and ready and the second quarter we got lazy and complacent. We haven’t had a lot of practice lately. That’s the excuse I’m going to use, but we need to get back in the gym and practice some things we need to work on.”

Lincoln Norris drilled six three point shots and scored 23 points, older brother Landen had 22 as Knoxville moved to 11-0 on the season and 7-0 in the South Central Conference. The Davis County girls used eight/nothing runs in the 1st half to grab a double digit lead that would grow to as high as 28 in the 2nd half and stifled Knoxville at every turn. Hannah Dunkin scored 18 points to lead Knoxville, who fell to 3-10 on the season. Both Knoxville’s head to Clarke tonight and can be heard live on 95.3 KNIA.
