Simpson College is once again celebrating one of their most famous alumni this week, George Washington Carver. The three-day George Washington Carver Day celebration begins on Thursday, and includes a presentation of the George Washington Carver Medal to Hon. Mike Espy, former Member of Congress from Mississippi and first African American U.S. Secretary of Agriculture and Member of Congress, a toast at West Hill Brewery, and a scavenger hunt around the downtown Indianola square with many participating local businesses.
