Today is the final day to view the traveling exhibit “Spark! Places of Innovation” in Newton.

The free exhibit is associated with the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. and pays tribute to innovation in rural America. The Jasper County Historical Society partnered with the Newton Historical Preservation Commission to bring artifacts and content related to Newton and Jasper County into the exhibit as well. Newton Community Development Director Erin Chambers says that it is a great attraction for the whole family.

“There are computer components and videos, there are ways youth and adults can engage with the content hands on. You will find the quality of an exhibit you might see in Washington D.C.”

“Spark! Places of Innovation” is in Legacy Plaza’s Building 20 at 403 West 4th Street North in Newton and is open today from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
