Capping off a busy week on the road, the Pella Christian boys basketball travels to Van Meter tonight for their third game in four days.
The Eagles began the week at Centerville on Monday with a 70-67 overtime victory, before falling 53-40 at Norwalk on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were victorious in their only game this week, defeating Pleasantville 66-52 at home Monday night to extend their winning streak to eight games. After opening the season 3-3 in the month of December, Van Meter has gone 8-1 in January to stand at 11-4 overall. The Bulldogs have been led on the winter by the junior duo of Andon Watson and Brody Notz, who average 12.8 and 12.3 points per game. Tonight’s contest will be the 11th meeting between the two schools since 2015, with Pella Christian holding a 9-2 record in those matchups. The Eagles have won the last four games in the series, including a 53-52 home victory last year, while Van Meter’s last victory was a 48-46 contest in February of 2019.
Tip-off of the Pella Christian boys basketball game at Van Meter tonight is slated for 7 pm.
