Competing on their home track at the Dutch Winter Multi-Event, three members of the Central College track and field team recorded top-10 national marks.

Olivia Bohlen had the winning women’s pentathlon score with 3,476 points, while in the men’s heptathlon, Kale Hobart was second with 5,019 points and Reid Pakkebier was third with 4,970 points. Bohlen had the top 60-meter hurdles time (9.15 seconds) and the best high jump mark (5 feet, 2.25 inches) while also winning the high jump and shot put. She sits fourth on the national qualifying list. Hobart became just the fourth athlete in Dutch track and field multi-event history to score over 5,000 points in the heptathlon, with all three of the other athletes earning All-American honors in their career. Hobart shared the best pole vault mark in the field (13 feet, 3.5 inches), and is now fourth on the national qualifying list. Pakkebier had consecutive personal-best marks in the 60-meter dash (7.11 seconds) and the long jump (22 feet, 3.5 inches) to start the meet and finished strong to reach sixth on the national qualifying list.

The rest of the Central College track & field teams compete today in Waverly at the Wartburg Indoor Select meet, with field events starting at 9 am and running events beginning at 10:30 am.
