The PCM girls and boys basketball teams defeated South Hamilton on the road Tuesday night in a Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader as PCM senior Addison Steenhoek joined the 1,000 point club.

The #9 ranked Mustangs led 16-9 at the end of the first quarter but pulled away after outscoring the Hawks 18-4 in the second quarter and picked up the commanding 59-27 win. PCM was led in scoring by Libby Winters who had 19 points and Addison Steenhoek who had 17 to surpass 1,000 points for her career. The PCM girls improve to 18-2 overall.

The Mustang boys led the Hawks 21-5 at the end of the first quarter and carried that momentum the rest of the contest to get the 71-40 win. PCM was led in scoring by Gavin Van Gorp who had 19 points. 13 different Mustangs entered the scoring column in the win. The PCM boys improve to 9-10 on the season. The PCM girls and boys basketball teams will be back in action on Friday against Roland-Story.
