The Marion County Board of Supervisors concluded their annual budget session on Thursday.

Throughout this week the board has reviewed the budget for all county departments. February 21st is the county’s target date to be completed to allow publications and meetings to take place, as required by House File 718. The Marion County approved budget is then due to the State of Iowa by April 30th. On Thursday the board stated that health insurance rates for county employees will go up 2% but the county will cover the increase, and the board also approved a requested $10,000 increase for the county library coalition. The libraries will now receive $95,000 of funding from the county.

The board will meet in regular session on Tuesday.
