The Indianola School Board approved a bid for the Wilder Elementary Fire Alarm Replacement Project at their meeting Monday for $178,400. Superintendent Tara Paul tells KNIA News safety is at the forefront of their facilities priorities, and the system at Wilder needed an upgrade.

“That’s just part of us keeping our systems up to date. When something breaks down such as the fire alarm, it might just be a part that we can no longer get because it’s obsolete. So the entire fire alarm system has to be replaced. When you think about Wilder, that is what we are doing. Yes it is one of our newer buildings, but systems don’t last as long as they used to and we have to make sure they are updated and up to code when we do that.”
