The PCM girls basketball team is hosting South Tama tonight in the opening round of regional play as the boys wrestling team will compete at their Class 2A district meet hosted by Ballard.

The #10 PCM girls finished the regular season with a 19-3 overall record and defeated Van Meter on Tuesday in their last regular season contest. The Mustangs will now take on the 2-19 Trojans who have been winless since January 6th. The Mustang girls have been led in scoring this season by junior Tori Lindsay who is averaging 12.6 points per game. Tonight’s Class 3A Region 4 contest in Monroe starts at 7:00 pm.

The Mustang boys wrestling team will head to Ballard today for their Class 2A district meet. The meet will feature Mount Vernon, Chariton, Ballard, Saydel, Nevada, Oskaloosa, and Van Meter. PCM wrestlers Tucker Wheeler and Kaliber Fry were both state qualifiers last season and will look to earn a trip back again this year. The Mustangs have also seen an impressive season from senior Kaden Clark who is also a former state qualifier. Today’s district meet at Ballard starts at 10:00 am.
