Pella Christian’s theatre troupe is heading to the Iowa High School Speech Association All-State festival with two performing acts.
The group was selected to perform their one act The Other Room and their musical theatre production of Newsies at the All-State Festival at Iowa State University this Saturday, while their other musical theatre production of The Little Mermaid was chosen as All-State non-performing. Senior Evan Tschetter said that nomination to perform Newsies came as a surprise, and added that he is excited to take the stage in Ames this weekend.
“I wasn’t really expecting our musical theater to be performing just because musical theater is such a competitive section of speech. So, it was a huge honor and I am really excited to perform both one act and Newsies.”
