The Melcher-Dallas Girls Basketball Squad is headed to the class 1A Regional semifinals after defeating Murray on Tuesday 51-35. The Saints used a big 2nd half to power past the Mustangs, who kept the Saints at bay in the 1st half allowing just 17 points. Melcher-Dallas would outscore Murray 34-15 in the 2nd half and used solid rebounding and 12/14 from the free throw line in the 4th quarter to seal the win. Addi Wadle had 17 points for the Saints going 6/6 from the line in the 4th quarter. Gabby Overgaard had 13 of her 15 points in the 2nd half. Wadle told KNIA Sports the relief of getting through Murray was well earned.
Wadle: “As soon as they put the subs in we finally accomplished it, and Murray was a tough team and to get to the semifinals and be the last four teams in our region is great.”
Melcher-Dallas will travel to Montezuma to take on the 6th ranked Bravettes on Friday.
