
Evan Gladfelter has been honored as the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Jailer of the Year and was selected as the recipient of the award by his peers. Gladfelter is a detention officer that has been with the department since 2017. A social media post by the Sheriff’s Department states:
“Evan has consistently demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and dedication in his role as a Jailer. His passion for assisting inmates, along with his dedication to the safety and well-being of those in his care, has made him a standout member of our team. Evan’s responsibilities include performing vital correctional duties such as the care and custody of pretrial detainees and convicted offenders (inmates). He provides direct supervision of inmates, ensures compliance with strict rules and regulations, prevents escapes, and maintains order within the facility. Evan’s ability to uphold discipline while fostering a respectful environment speaks to his skill and professionalism.”
