The public is invited to be part of the design process for the Illuminate Indianola project later this year. The Illuminate Indianola project aims to light up the alley on the west side of the square near the newly acquired annex building, and will celebrate Indianola’s unique history with hot air ballooning and align with the broader theme of wonder and reflection found in the Wonder on Buxton sculptures to the south of the square, and the board has selected Pennsylvania-based artist Lori Hepner to bring “Illuminate Indianola” to life.

Hepner and the Indianola Public Arts Commission is inviting the community for a hands-on art making workshop where everyone is invited to draw with light using programmable LED light devices and more. The workshop will be on March 1st, with three different sessions throughout the day. Find registration information and more about Illuminate Indianola below.
