The Indianola girls basketball team makes the trip west to Waukee High School in the regional semifinal tonight, looking to avenge an early season loss against the Warriors to advance to the regional final.
The Indians and Warriors matched up in one of the first games of the season with Waukee winning 58-38, but Indianola has several areas to improve upon tonight in the second matchup. The Indians turned the ball over 22 times in the first contest, shooting just 26% from the field and just one of nine from beyond the arc and 11/25 from the free throw line. Head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports he wants to be able to start the game fast and withstand the early pressure from the Warriors press.
The game can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 6:40pm, with tipoff at 7pm.
