With the NCAA Division III Championships regional qualifying meets coming next weekend, the Central College men’s wrestling team is ranked in the top-20 with three individuals cited in the sixth National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III rankings.

The Dutch climbed one spot to #16 in the dual rankings and slipped to #20 in the tournament team rankings. Unchanged from their spots in the rankings released two weeks ago, Pierre Baldwin is #3 at 141 pounds, Carter Martinson is #8 at 157 pounds and Sam West is #9 at 184 pounds. Baldwin is 19-1 on the season including an 8-0 mark in American Rivers Conference matches. Martinson is 17-3 including a win over #9 Eric Kinkaid of Loras College. West is 15-4 with all four losses coming to opponents ranked higher than him. Six more Central wrestlers were featured in the regional rankings at their weight classes. Dominick Marre is #8 at 125 pounds, Carter West is #5 at 133 pounds, Cade Siebrecht is #6 at 149 pounds, Carson Martinson is #3 at 165 pounds, Jason Hermann is #6 at 174 pounds and Austin Roos is #6 at 197 pounds.

Central travels to Cedar Rapids for the NCAA Division III Region 6 Championships next Friday and Saturday.
