Following several sessions regarding budget reductions for the Pella School District, a part of that process returned with employee terminations on Monday’s agenda for the Pella School Board.

French Teacher Carrie McCabe, Jefferson Intermediate Teacher-Librarian Paula Winward, and Middle School Student Resources Teacher Morgan Lybbert were all let go at the end of this current academic year. This comes after their positions were cut as part of an approved resolution earlier this winter.

Also at the meeting, an $880,000 contract was awarded to T.K. Concrete for Pella Middle School parking lot improvements that will start sometime this spring, with the goal for completion before the end of the summer sports season.

A new salary schedule was approved to align with a law passed in 2024 for minimum teacher pay, as well as the 2025-26 health insurance plan, an audit report for 2023-24, and a user agreement with Bos Landen for the spring golf season. Also approved were substantial completion documents for the stadium project, and the District Career and Academic Plan.
