
The field is set for next week’s Class 4A Girls State Basketball Tournament in Des Moines.
The Norwalk girls advanced with an impressive 85-56 win over Pella on Tuesday night, securing the program’s first state tourney berth since 2007. The Warriors own the best record in the 4A bracket at 22-1 and are seeded fourth. They will take on fifth-seeded Central DeWitt (20-4) in a state quarterfinal game on Tuesday, March 4, at 1:30 p.m. inside Wells Fargo Arena.
With a victory, Norwalk will face either top-seeded Sioux City Bishop Heelan (21-2) or Cedar Rapids Xavier (19-4) in the semifinal round on Thursday, March 6. Additional first-round games will feature No. 2 seed North Polk vs. Sioux Center and No. 3 seed Maquoketa vs. Dallas Center-Grimes.
The Class 4A state championship game will be played on Saturday, March 8, at 2:30.
