Battling adversity throughout the 2024-2025 season, the Pella Christian bowling teams saw big improvements throughout the winter.

For the Eagle girls, they saw their meet average score climb from 1471 through their first four meets, to 1642 in their final two meets of the season. Like the girls, the Pella Christian boys also increased their average scores throughout the season, jumping from 2099 in their first four meets to 2193 in the fifth through eighth meets and 2155 in their last two. Eagles head coach Rod Blunck said that a noticeable improvement from every player on both teams helped lead the squads to better outings as the season progressed.

“Since we have to go to Oskaloosa to practice, we had a pretty steady bus driver for practices and he told me one time toward the end of the season, these guys have improved a lot from the first practice until whatever day he mentioned that, and they did. They all focused a little more and obviously we still missed some spares, and I know I do that myself, but it’s just the way the game works sometimes. But all of these kids improved noticeably during the season, so that’s something we can build on for next season.”

The Pella Christian boys ended the 2024-2025 season with a 1-9 overall record, while the girls finished at 0-10.
