Hot shooting got Melcher-Dallas out to a 9-1 lead early in their rivalry Senior Night match up with Twin Cedars but ultimately the Lady Sabers prevailed by a 45-26 in a game streamed live on kniakrls.com. The Lady Saints knocked down three three pointers in the first three minutes to jump out to an early lead but the Twin Cedars defense clamped down and allowed the Lady Sabers to hold an 18-16 advantage going to the locker room. In half number two it was the defense again that put the game away for Twin Cedars as they surrendered just ten second half points and caused multiple Melcher-Dallas turnovers with their press. The Lady Sabers also were aggressive in the offense end, shooting 29 free throws on the night to just five for the Lady Saints. Twin Cedars was led by Alee Hugen and her game high 19 points. Haylie Branson had seven in the loss for Melcher-Dallas. Twin Cedars is now 11-10 on the year, Melcher-Dallas stands at 5-14.
