With at least a share of the Little Hawkeye Conference title on the line, the Pella softball team is in Knoxville tonight to take on the Lady Panthers.
The Lady Dutch are trying to rebound from losing back-to-back games for the first time this season, and Head Coach Krista DeMeuelenaere says tonight’s contest comes down to her squad playing the style of softball that had earned them a great deal of success in recent weeks.
”It’s just continuing to pound [the ball] with our bats, and we need to play more solid defense,” says DeMeulenaere. “It’s just all about playing our style of ball, our game, and I think we’ll come out tonight doing that well.”
The Pella softball team currently sits at 16-7 overall and 9-3 in the Little Hawkeye Conference, while Knoxville is 8-18 and 4-8 in league play.
