Tim McDonald was elected president of the Knoxville School Board at last night’s meeting. McDonald replaces Jeff Wallace, who chose to not run again for the school board. After new member Mike Helle was sworn in, Wallace was given a plaque to recognize his seven years of service as a member of the Knoxville School Board, including three as president. The school board also discussed the condition of the turf at Ken Locke Stadium, noting that it will have to be completely renovated again in the near future. They also talked about the possibility of offering incentives for early retirement this year.
