The Pella Food Pantry has been very busy recently. Director Melissa Zula tells KNIA/KRLS News they broke a record last week, serving 110 families. She says with winter coming up, they’ll be in need of more donations, as families in need will have their budgets stretched thin with higher utility costs through the cold months. Local businesses are also getting involved. Rosa Veenstra, owner of Branches Christian Bookstore says they’re offering a promotion in conjunction with Christian Stores Week, with proceeds going directly to the Pantry. To contribute, contact the Food Pantry through Peace Lutheran Church at 628-2835.
