The Marion County Board of Supervisors has changed the way they accept board appointments. This occurs after a resolution passed at their regular meeting Monday morning. The new process will treat board vacancies more like open job positions. There will be a certain amount of time that the vacancy is posted and applications are taken. The board will then accept the nominee. This was done in response to the new gender equity law for boards. They also voted to sell the easement of a portion of 76th Avenue to the US Army Corps of Engineers and appointed Sharon Dennison to the Board of Adjustment.
