Graduating ten seniors from the previous year’s team means the Pella High boys basketball team will be looking for a lot of players to fill increased roles.  Fortunately for the Little Dutch, they’ve got a pair of senior leaders to build the team around in guard Lucas Boyd, and forward Jace Ver Steeg.  

Pella head coach Mark Core says Boyd performed well in embracing his role as point guard last season, while Ver Steeg should be able to create match-up problems with his mix of height and athleticism.  

Those two hope to get the Pella High boys basketball season off to a good start on Saturday, when they’ll travel to Mount Pleasant to face the Panthers.
