The Marion County Sheriff’s Office tells KNIA/KRLS that area roadways are up to 100% percent snow and ice covered and slick. The Marion County Engineer’s Office Secondary Roads Department tells KNIA/KRLS news that county plows are out. State plows are in operation as well. The Iowa DOT reports that all central Iowa roadways are completely covered. We are receiving multiple reports of vehicles in ditches, and drivers having difficulty on hilly roads. The Marion County Sheriff’s office urges drivers to be cautious this morning, take plenty of time, and give our road crews and first responders plenty of room to work.
