[simage=6868,max,n,center,]The house fire Northwest of Pella last week may remain a mystery. Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkom tells KNIA/KRLS News that while the investigation isn’t complete, the cause of the house fire at 1815 Elk Horn Court. He says that the damage to the home was so severe from the fire being fueled by the strong winds that day means that much of the evidence has been reduced to ash. Van Gorkom says that although the fire remains under investigation, it can serve as a good reminder for people to practice fire safety in the home. He says that making sure high current draw items like space heaters are properly set up in your home is a good idea. Van Gorkom also says that checking all your smoke alarms are working and have fresh batteries is always a good plan, especially following such a blaze.
