The Marion County Sheriff’s Office tells KNIA/KRLS that area roadways are partially covered with snow and ice and may be slick. Portions of roadways may be clear and then covered with black ice. The Iowa DOT reports that normal winter driving conditions exist. The Knoxville snow ordinance is in effect, which means no street parking unless the street has been plowed curb to curb. A county wide tow ban is in effect. County maintainers begin operations on rural roads at 7AM. The Marion County Sheriff’s office urges drivers to be cautious this morning, take plenty of time, and give our road crews and first responders plenty of room to work.
