Join the Neal Smith Wildlife Refuge to help rebuild more tallgrass prairie by cleaning native prairie seed by hand and by using tools on Saturday, December 9th. This process involves removing the stem, leaves, and other parts, leaving just the seeds for planting. This effort will help
reconstruct diverse tallgrass prairie. This work will be done inside the seed lab
located at the visitor center. Free hot chocolate and snacks will be available for volunteers.
Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the form. Volunteers
are required to wear closed sturdy shoes and pants. For additional information and to register contact nancy_corona@fws.gov or call 515-994-3400.
