The Knights of Columbus Council 4108 in Oskaloosa and the KC council in Pella are participating in a 21 mile walk from St. Mary’s in Pella to St. Mary’s in Oskaloosa to raise money & awareness for the groups that help women experiencing pregnancy in those communities. The name of the walk is the St. Mary’s Walk with Jesus for Life and it will be taking place on Saturday March 2, 2024. The purpose of the walk is to raise awareness & money for Pathways of Pella and The Growing Place of Oskaloosa. Many gravel roads will be traversed by the group to avoid the 4 lane between the two towns and the approximate mid-way point will be Leighton. The first 10.5 miles of funds raised will go to Pathways and the second 10.5 miles will go to The Growing Place. The men are wanting to do what they can to raise money to help both Pathways of Pella and The Growing Place of Oskaloosa thrive in doing what they do best which is to help women and untimely families as they experience pregnancy and begin the process of raising the next crop of kids. If you would like to support the men in this effort, please consider pledging them. Suggested pledges are really what you can afford to do and can range anywhere from $5-$10/mile or a lump sum of $100 for the walk. The goal is to raise $3,000 for the walk!
