The 70th annual season opener at the Knoxville Raceway is today. After a fourth consecutive weather-related cancellation to start the season, the Knoxville Championship Series 410, 360 and Pro Series Sprint Cars will push off today. Hot Laps will begin at 6:15 p.m. Racing will get started at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Knoxville Raceway Director John McCoy tells KNIA/KRLS News, “I think we’ve got an excellent car count. The 410 class looks strong, the 360 class looks very strong. We’re trying to pick up a few more in the Pro Series. We’re just really happy with all three classes.”

Children age 12 and under will be admitted free for the opener. General Admission tickets are available online and at the ticket office.
