Tyler Erb led 24 of the 25 laps in Thursday night’s night one of the 17th Lucas Oil Late Model Nationals at the Knoxville Raceway. Erb grabbed the lead from Ricky Weiss after the completion of lap one and was never threatened until the last couple of laps on a restart. Erb had the lead up to three-seconds at one point before a late race caution bunched the field. Johnathan Davenport had a chance on the restart and actually got by Erb but was unable to complete the pass. NASCAR Driver and Knoxville Nationals Winner Kyle Larson was making a charge but could only manage third place. Larson currently leads the points with 493, but Thursday was the only night he could race due to his NASCAR commitments this weekend. All other drivers will run again tonight to try to better their score and the highest point total after tonight will start on the pole of the 100 lap A-Main on Saturday.
